What's new?

Scrut Agent now includes diagnostics that check:

  • VPN Configuration: Checks for existing VPN setups that might interfere with connectivity.

  • Firewall Settings: Verifies firewall rules to ensure unblocked communication.

  • Internet Connectivity: Validates the system's connection to the internet

Diagnostics run automatically during initial setup and once every 3 days thereafter. You can also trigger on-demand diagnostics as needed.

Enhanced logging now captures detailed information for:

  • User Logout Events: More descriptive logs to clearly track and understand user logout sequences.

  • Application Crashes: Detailed logs to facilitate quicker diagnosis and resolution of App Crashes

  • Uncaught Exceptions: Descriptive error logs for previously uncaught exceptions, ensuring no issue goes unrecorded

Why was this needed?

Understanding and resolving data sync or installation problems previously required manual investigation and back-and-forth troubleshooting. Automated diagnostics proactively identify connectivity issues, while comprehensive logging provides complete visibility into events that affect Agent performance, enabling faster diagnosis and resolution of sync problems.

How it works

  • Diagnostics run automatically during initial Agent installation and every 3 days thereafter.

  • You can manually trigger diagnostics at any time by clicking "Run Diagnostics Again."

  • Review diagnostic results covering VPN configuration, firewall settings, and internet connectivity.

  • Access enhanced logs for user logout events, application crashes, and uncaught exceptions to troubleshoot issues.

  • Benefit from improved stability with the Electron version upgrade from 33.2.0 to 39.2.1.
