Introducing Diverse Risk Custom Fields

We're excited to announce an enhancement to our risk register with the introduction of enhanced custom fields. Previously, our custom fields were text-based, allowing for flexible data entry but resulting in manual input and difficulty in analyzing repetitive or monetary values. Moreover, the inability to filter these fields added complexity to risk assessment and management. With these enhancements, users can now experience greater efficiency and flexibility in capturing, analyzing, and filtering risk-related data within the Scrut platform.

How does it work?

CUSTOM FIELD CREATION

  • Navigate to the 'Custom Fields' tab in 'Risk Settings'.

  • Users can create new custom fields by clicking on "Add Field". The different field types that are supported by our platform are:

    • Currency: This field captures monetary values. You can configure it to reflect the specific currency values you want to associate with the field.

    • Single Select: This field allows users to configure drop-downs and select a single value.

    • Multi Select: This field enables users to configure drop-downs and select multiple values.

    • Textbox: This field captures a small note with a character limit of 100.

    • TextArea: This field captures a description with a character limit of 500.

  • Users can categorize the custom field as either an Assessment field or a Residual field. Once the field type is chosen and the custom field is created, you cannot change the field type upon editing.

  • All the custom fields can be found on the risk detail page, towards the end, right before the comment section.

  • New custom fields created during your risk assessment will appear in both existing and future risks.

CUSTOM FIELDS EDIT

  • Changes to a Custom Field will affect both current and future risks.

  • For Textbox and TextArea custom fields, you can modify the name and rules.

  • For currency custom fields, you can alter the currency type as well as the name and rules.

  • For Single or Multi Select Field Types, you can edit or remove options that aren't needed anymore. You can also update the name and rules.

CUSTOM FIELDS DELETE

  • When a custom field is deleted, it is removed from all risks.

  • If an option from a multi-select or single-select custom field type is deleted, the removed option will no longer appear in any open/assessed/ treated/treatment-in-progress risks. However, if a risk is closed, the deleted option will still be visible but marked with a delete tag.

We believe that the introduction of diverse risk custom fields on our platform significantly enhances the user experience. It offers flexibility and efficiency, allowing for more detailed and nuanced risk assessment and management.
