Assign employees to groups directly via CSV Import

What’s new?

You can now assign employees to groups directly through CSV import, eliminating the need to manually organize teams after uploading. A new Group column in the CSV lets you manage team structure as part of the import process.

Why it matters

Organizing employees into the right groups is critical for policy rollout, task assignment, and audits. This update removes the repetitive work of assigning each person after import.

How it works

1. When importing employees via People → Add Employee → Import File, you now have two ways to handle group assignment:

   • Option 1: Auto-create and assign

     • Scrut checks the Group value for each row.

     • If the group exists, the employee is added.

     • If it doesn't, a new group is created automatically using the same name with a default checklist.

   • Option 2: Assign all to one group

     • Scrut ignores the Group column and assigns all imported employees to a single, existing group selected in the modal.

2. The import modal has been updated with tooltips and clear instructions to guide you through both options.
