Audit Log and enhancements in Vault

What is this feature?

We are excited to introduce a set of enhancements aimed at improving transparency within the 'Vault' section of the Scrut platform. Users previously faced challenges in tracking actions due to the absence of audit logs, and the Root folder was not displayed in the Folders tab, leading to confusion. Additionally, the allowance of duplicate folders and document names caused further disorganization. This update addresses these issues by providing audit logs, ensuring the Root folder is visible and fixed, preventing duplicate names, and enhancing the overall user experience.

Problem Statement

Users experienced confusion due to the following issues in the 'Vault' section:

Lack of Awareness of Actions: Users were unclear about the available actions within the 'Vault' section, making it challenging to utilize its features effectively.

Root Folder Visibility: The 'Root' folder was not displayed in the 'Folders' tab, causing difficulty in organizing and navigating documents.

Duplicate Names: The system allowed duplicate folder and document names, leading to further disorganization and confusion.

These issues resulted in difficulty in tracking changes and maintaining a structured document repository.

How does it work?

Audit Logs for Vault Section:

  1. Log in to the Scrut platform and select 'Vault'

  2. You can now access comprehensive audit logs within the 'Vault' section.

Root Folder Visibility and Management:

  1. The 'Root' folder will now be visible in the 'Folders' tab.

  1. Users cannot rename or delete the 'Root' folder, ensuring consistent structure and preventing accidental modifications.

Restriction on Duplicate Names:

  1. Duplicate folder names will no longer be allowed, preventing confusion and maintaining clear organization.

  2. Duplicate document names will also be restricted to ensure clarity and avoid redundancy.
