Automate internal reporting with Scrut Monitor

AUTHOR: The folks at Scrut

What's new?

We’re launching an internal Scrut Monitor to automatically generate and attach key compliance reports from various Scrut modules to specific tasks. The Scrut Monitor will now auto-generate reports across multiple internal systems on a defined cadence (once, daily, weekly, monthly, or annually) and attach them as evidence, helping compliance teams stay audit-ready, with zero manual work.

Supported reports

  • Employee Directory: All active employees across selected sources with custom columns.

  • Risk Register: Export of your Scrut risk register.

  • Vendor Compliance Report: List of vendors when all are compliant or reviewed.

  • Internal Audit Report (coming soon): All closed internal audits. Each finding report is added as a separate CSV.

  • Asset Inventory (coming soon): Full inventory grouped by asset type. Each type in a separate sheet.

Why it matters

This helps you automatically generate and attach key compliance reports for Scrut’s own environment, without any manual exports, missed cadences, or duplicated effort.

How it works

  1. On the Evidence detail page, click the Upload Attachment button.

  2. Navigate to the Scrut Monitor tab, and click the Configure button next to the Scrut application.

  3. Set up the automated workflow by entering the following details:

    • Evidence Name: Enter a descriptive name for the evidence collection workflow.

    • Evidence Type: Select from the available internal evidence types listed above.

Note: When selecting the Employee Directory Report, you must choose the Employee Sources for the report. This includes your connected IdP and HRIS tools.

    • Cadence: Select how often you want the Scrut Monitor to generate and attach the report: Once, daily, weekly, monthly, or annually

  4. Select the Auto-publish evidence task checkbox if you want to auto-publish the evidence task.

  5. Click Save.

Note:

  • All reports are attached as CSV files, Multi-sheet CSVs for asset inventories.

  • Auto-zips attachments if more than five reports.

  • Smart skipping: If nothing has changed from the last run, we don’t reattach the same reports.

  • Vendor reports track compliance daily and export only when conditions are met.
