Automated Policy Metadata in Inline Editor

In this new release, we are introducing a feature that enhances your policy drafting experience. Now, the Policy Metadata Information, which includes details about approvers, assignees, and publishers, will be conveniently displayed on the right side of the Scrut inline editor. These details, previously entered manually, will now be automatically fetched from the respective fields of each policy. Additionally, when you download a policy, this metadata table will be included at the end of the PDF, providing a comprehensive overview of the policy's history.

How does it work?

1. When a user launches the policy inline editor for the first time, the Current Version Details will be empty since no changes have been made yet.

2. When a user makes necessary changes and edits the content, they are prompted to save the policy version name upon saving. The Policy Metadata table is then updated accordingly.

3. When the assigned approver gives approval, the 'Approved By' field is updated accordingly.

4. When the admin publishes the policy, the 'Published By' field is also recorded.

5. The first page of the PDF, downloaded from the inline editor, will display the organization's name, logo, and policy name. The Policy Metadata Table will be included at the end of the PDF.

6. The changes made for each version can be viewed in the 'Revision History' of the 'Inline Editor'.

How does this impact existing users?

1. For existing users, the policy metadata table will be disabled by default because they have already manually added it to their policies. If users wish to enable this feature, they can navigate to the policy settings and enable it.

Note: By proceeding, you will have to manually delete existing tables of revision history from each policy.
