Change the access review owner to ensure continuity

DATE:
AUTHOR: The folks at Scrut

What's new?

You can now reassign the Review Owner for any Access Review that is in Draft, Upcoming, Active, or Overdue status.

Why it matters

This enhancement resolves the previous limitation where ownership was fixed post-creation, leading to duplication or loss of review history during team transitions or personnel changes. You can now maintain a complete audit trail even when ownership changes.

How it works

  • Admins can click the edit icon next to the Owner field on the Access Review detail page to change the owner.

  • The new owner must be an active Scrut user and assigned to at least one application included in the review.

  • You cannot change the owner once the review is completed to preserve audit integrity.

  • The newly assigned owner receives an automated notification via email, Slack, or Teams with contextual details and a direct link to the review.
