Explicit Access Review sign-off with app-by-app approvals
What's new?
Access Reviews now include a Send for Approval action that creates a clear handoff between Reviewers and Approvers. Reviewers can send individual application reviews for approval once their review is complete, and Approvers can approve or decline with full audit logging for compliance traceability.
Why was this needed?
Access Reviews require explicit approval checkpoints to meet compliance requirements. By separating the review and approval steps with clear status transitions and audit trails, you get stronger controls, better accountability, and complete visibility into who reviewed what and when—critical for demonstrating compliance to auditors and stakeholders.
How it works
Reviewers can send an application for approval once their review is complete by clicking 'Send for Approval.'
Each application can be sent independently.
Once sent:
The application status updates to Pending approval
Reviewers can no longer make changes
Approvers are notified
Approvers can Approve or Decline.
If declined:
A reason is required
Reviewers are notified
Updates can be made and re-sent for approval
All actions and comments are audit-logged for compliance and traceability.
