What is this feature?

We are pleased to announce the addition of a requested feature to the Scrut Agent! Scrut Agent now offers the capability to fetch antivirus information, including the antivirus name and its version, directly from the employee's device.

Use case/Pain point solved

Before implementing the new feature, users faced challenges in obtaining essential information about the antivirus software installed on employees' devices. This lack of visibility into the antivirus name and its version made it difficult to monitor device security effectively and make informed decisions regarding security policies and compliance requirements. Now, this feature will help users understand which antivirus software and version are installed on their devices.

How does it work?

To view antivirus information using the Scrut Agent:

  1. Employees should launch the Scrut Agent on their devices.

  1. If multiple antiviruses are installed, the user can click on the +1 icon to view the list.

  1. Users can also view the antivirus name and its version by logging into the Scrut platform.

  2. Navigate to 'People', go to 'Employees', then to the 'Technicals' section.

  3. The antivirus name and its version that the user has installed on their device will be visible under 'AV Installed'.
