Improved version history for policies

AUTHOR: The folks at Scrut

What's new?

We’ve enhanced the version history table in each policy to provide a more intuitive and efficient experience. You can now preview attachments, edit policies with a dedicated version history panel, and follow a clear, step-by-step process for publishing changes, including a final review screen.

Why it matters

With this enhancement, you can easily track and manage different versions of your policies throughout their lifecycle. Having the details of all current and previous versions within Scrut provides transparency in policy management by maintaining a detailed history of changes, contributors, and approvers.

How it works

  • When you click an attachment in the version history, a preview window opens with options to download, edit the policy, or expand the view.

  • Choosing “Edit Policy” takes you to the editor, where a version history panel on the right displays all relevant fields.

  • When you are ready to publish, a review screen appears so you can check all details before confirming. If the policy is linked to the employee training portal, an employee reacceptance prompt will show up.

  • “Created by” and “approved by” fields are pre-filled, and the “published by” field and version date are activated only upon publication, ensuring accurate and automatic logging of all changes.
