JIRA bi-directional integration
We are thrilled to announce bi-directional integration between Scrut and JIRA, enabling seamless information exchange and real-time updates. This feature empowers a more unified and efficient workflow for managing evidence associated with JIRA tickets.
Use case/Pain point solved
Organizations that manage evidence collection on JIRA may find the manual import process into Scrut to be tedious and redundant. This bi-directional integration addresses these issues by:
Automatic updates: Changes made to the status of linked JIRA tickets are automatically reflected in Scrut, ensuring consistent data across both platforms.
Streamlined attachment management: New attachments added to JIRA tickets are automatically imported into Scrut evidence, eliminating the need for manual uploads and saving countless hours of manual work.
Draft status update: Importing attachments from JIRA automatically updates the Scrut evidence status to "Draft," prompting further review and potential adjustments.
How does it work?
First, you need to Integrate with JIRA as per this help guide.
Note: Customers who integrated with JIRA before February 28 need to reintegrate to give Scrut permission to create a webhook in their JIRA account for bidirectional sync.
Go to 'Settings', then to 'Integrations', and then to 'JIRA'. Click on the “Settings" tab.
Enable the toggle to automatically import the attachments from JIRA into the linked evidence task.
Navigate any 'Evidence' Task.
Click the 'JIRA Tickets' tab.
There are two options:
Create JIRA ticket: Click this if you want to create a new ticket in JIRA and link it to the evidence task.
Link Existing tickets: Click this if you already have one or more tickets in JIRA and you just want to link it to the evidence task.
Once you have created or linked a JIRA ticket, it will appear in the same tab.
Note: The ticket's status and other details are updated in real time, so you don’t have to switch to JIRA to check the latest status and progress on the ticket.
Once an attachment is added to JIRA, it will get automatically synced to 'Evidence Task'.
