AUTHOR: The folks at Scrut

In our latest update, we're excited to enhance a feature introduced in the previous release. This feature simplifies the process of mapping artifacts to Universal Control Framework (UCF) controls in the Policy, Risk, and Audit Center modules. Now, we're taking it a step further by extending this capability to the Evidence and Findings modules. This expansion ensures a smoother and more integrated experience across our platform, enabling users to efficiently manage their compliance and control needs.

Enhanced Modules

The following modules now include the streamlined artifact-to-control mapping feature:

  • Evidence

  • Findings

How it Work?

For Evidence Tasks

  1. Create a New Evidence Task and Link Controls via Requirements:

  • Navigate to the 'Evidence Task' module and click 'Create New' at the top right.

  • In the "Create New Evidence" pop-up, fill in the necessary details for your Evidence Task and click 'Next'.

  • In the 'Requirements' tab, select 'Requirement', go to the control you want to map, and click on 'Link'.

  • Your Evidence Task will be created with the requirement seamlessly mapped to it.

    1. Editing Requirements in an Existing Evidence Task:

  • Navigate to the Evidence Task module and open the specific Evidence Task you wish to work on.

  • Within the Evidence Task details, locate the 'Requirements' tab.

  • A window will pop up, showing a list of framework requirements. Pick the one you want to link to the Evidence Task, and then click the "Link" button to make the connection.

For Audit Center Findings:

  1. Create a New Findings Tab and Link Controls via Requirements:

    • Navigate to the Audit Center.

  • Open any audit present in your Audit Center.

  • Go to the Findings tab and manually create a finding by clicking the 'Create Finding' button.

  • In the add finding window, fill in the required details and click 'Next'.

  • In the 'Requirements' tab, select the requirement, go to the control you want to map, and click on 'Link'.

  • Your findings will be created with the requirements seamlessly mapped to them.

  1. Editing Requirements in an Existing Findings:

    • Navigate to the Audit Center, open any audit, and access an existing finding within it.

  • Go to the 'Requirements' tab and click on the 'Edit' button located to the right.

The "Edit Requirements and Controls" pop-up window will appear, displaying a list of framework requirements.

  • Choose the specific framework requirement you wish to map to the Finding, then click on the 'Link' button to establish the mapping.

  • The mapped controls will be updated successfully.

This extended feature streamlines the process of linking artifacts to controls via requirements across various modules, enhancing your organization's efficiency and overall usability.
