Multi-Entity Support: Part 1
We are excited to announce the release of Multi-Entity(aka Multi-Product) Support in Scrut platform. This new feature empowers mid-market and large enterprise segments to manage multiple entities within a single tenant account, providing greater flexibility and efficiency in compliance management.
Challenges Faced by Organizations
Complexity in Managing Diverse Entities: As businesses grow and expand, they often operate through multiple entities such as subsidiaries, business units, or product lines. Each entity may have its unique compliance requirements and policies, leading to complexities in managing diverse compliance data.
Inefficient Policy and Evidence Assignment: Without a multi-entity capability, assigning policies and evidence to the appropriate entities becomes time-consuming and error-prone. It requires duplicating efforts and maintaining separate records for each entity, leading to inefficiencies.
Lack of Visibility Across Entities: Organizations struggle to gain comprehensive insights into their compliance status across different entities when compliance data is scattered or siloed.
How does it work?
Configuring Multiple Entities/Products: To begin using the Multi-Entity feature, admins can access the "Settings" section of the platform. Within this section, they will find an option to "Manage Products." Here, they can set up and manage various entities such as Business Units (BUs), Products, Subsidiaries, or any other distinct organizational units relevant to their business.
Linking Entities/Products to Policies and Evidence: When creating new policies or evidence items, users have the option to link specific entities to each item. This linking process enables a direct association between the policy/evidence and the relevant entity. Users can select one or multiple entities to ensure that each compliance item is appropriately aligned with the corresponding organizational unit.
Editing Entity/Product Associations for Existing Policies and Evidence: By default, your existing policies and evidence are linked to “Organization wide.” You can easily edit that. Moreover, organizational structures may evolve over time, leading to changes in entity assignments for certain policies and evidence.
Displaying Entity/Product Labels: To provide users with a clear overview of the associations between compliance items and entities, the linked entity label is prominently displayed on the Policy and Evidence pages. This visual indicator ensures that users can quickly identify which entity each item is related to, promoting transparency and simplifying compliance monitoring.
Leveraging the Entity/Product Filter: To enhance data accessibility and streamline compliance management, the platform introduces an Entity Filter on the Policy and Evidence pages. This filter allows users to view and analyze compliance data specific to a particular entity, enabling targeted analysis and reporting for each organizational unit.
What’s next?
Part 2 - Frameworks and Controls: In the next release, we will extend Multi-Entity Support to Frameworks and Controls. This means you will be able to associate specific frameworks and controls with individual entities, allowing for more targeted and customized compliance management based on unique entity requirements.
Part 3 - Audit Center: In the subsequent iteration, we will extend Multi-Entity Support to the Audit Center. This enhancement will enable streamlined auditing processes for multiple entities, offering centralized access to audit trails, reports, and findings specific to each entity.
Part 4 - Risk Management: With Part 3 of the release, we will introduce Multi-Entity Support for Risk Management. You'll gain the ability to assess and mitigate risks at the entity level, ensuring a comprehensive risk management approach that takes into account the specific risk profiles of each organizational unit.
