Multi-Entity Support: Part 2

AUTHOR: The folks at Scrut

We are excited to launch support for Multi-Entity across other modules, such as Frameworks, Controls, and Cloud.

How does it work?

  1. Configuring Multiple Entities: To begin using the 'Multi-Entity' feature, admins can access the "Settings" section of the platform. Within this section, they will find an option to "Manage Entities." Here, they can set up and manage various entities such as Business Units (BUs), Products, Subsidiaries, or any other distinct organizational units relevant to their business.

  1. Linking Entities to Frameworks: When creating new frameworks, users have the option to link specific entities to each item. This linking process enables a direct association between the framework and the relevant entity. Users can select one or multiple entities to ensure that framework is appropriately aligned with the corresponding organizational unit.

  1. Editing Entity Associations for Default Frameworks: By default, your default frameworks such as ISO, SOC 2 etc. are linked to “Organization wide”. You can easily edit that.

  1. Linking Entities to Controls: When creating new control, users have the option to link specific entities to each item. This linking process enables a direct association between the control and the relevant entity. Users can select one or multiple entities to ensure that control is appropriately aligned with the corresponding organizational unit.

  1. Displaying Entity Labels: To provide users with a clear overview of the associations between frameworks and entities, the linked entity label is prominently displayed in the 'Framework Dashboard.' This visual indicator ensures that users can quickly identify which entity each framework is related to, promoting transparency and simplifying compliance monitoring.

  1. Linking Entities to Cloud Accounts: After you have integrated your AWS, Azure or GCP cloud account, you can then link it to one or more entities. So any test finding or cloud resource in danger or warning or compliant state will be tagged to that entity.

What’s next?

Part 3 - Audit Center and Risk Management: In the next release, we will extend Multi-Entity Support to Audit Center and Risk Management.

This means you will be able to associate specific audit projects and risks with individual entities, allowing for more targeted and customized compliance management based on unique entity requirements.
