NIST AI RMF Framework
We are thrilled to announce the addition of the NIST AI RMF framework to Scrut’s library of default standards. This means that organizations using Scrut can effortlessly align their AI projects with NIST's guidelines, enhancing the trustworthiness of their AI systems and effectively managing associated risks.
The NIST AI RMF framework plays a pivotal role in NIST's broader initiative to foster trust in AI technologies, ensuring compliance with emerging regulations, and establishing industry standards. The integration of this framework into Scrut marks a significant step towards responsible AI development and deployment.
Why is NIST AI RMF Significant?
In today's technology-driven landscape, many companies are launching AI products without fully evaluating the accompanying risks. Recognizing this gap, NIST introduced the AI RMF framework in January to address this issue. Companies launching AI products are now mandated to adhere to this framework.
The Core Functions of AI RMF: Govern, Map, Measure, and Manage
The AI RMF framework revolves around four pivotal functions:
Govern: This function accentuates how AI companies should cultivate a culture of risk management within their organizations.
Map: It assists companies in identifying the risks associated with the AI products they are developing.
Measure: This function provides guidance on the prioritization and quantification of these risks.
Manage: It outlines how companies should effectively handle and mitigate these identified risks.
