Notion Integration: Access Review
We are thrilled to announce that Scrut now supports integration with Notion to streamline access reviews. This integration empowers organizations to efficiently review and validate access rights and permissions granted to users within their systems and Notion.
Why this integration?
Conducting access reviews is crucial for maintaining security and compliance. However, managing access rights across multiple platforms can be challenging and time-consuming. By integrating Notion with Scrut, we aim to simplify the process of reviewing and validating user access within a unified platform.
Getting started
Navigate to the 'Integrations' section within 'Settings'.
Discover the new 'Notion' integration.
Click on "Integrate".
Upon clicking "Integrate", you will be prompted to authorize your Notion account. During this process, you will need to select the necessary permissions:
Permission to view pages (optional but recommended for future expansion)
Permission to view users and their emails (mandatory for seamless integration)
Performing Access Review with Notion
Create a new access review by selecting appropriate vendors and owners. Refer to the Access Review (Beta Release) guide for detailed steps.
Click on the newly created project and select 'Integrate' for the desired vendor. A list of apps available for integration will be displayed.
Choose 'Notion' from the list and click "Done". This will initiate the process and fetch the user list from Notion.
Once the fetching process is completed, click on the vendor to view the list of users with access to Notion.
Initiate the review process by clicking on "Start Review".
Note: Notion's API does not currently allow the fetching of user roles. As a result, the role column will appear empty in the user list.
This integration marks a significant step forward in simplifying access reviews and ensuring the security of your organization's data within Notion.
