Scrut now supports Kolide integration

What's new?

You can now integrate Kolide MDM with Scrut to pull in detailed device, user, and admin access information with support for automated tests. This integration provides comprehensive visibility into employee devices, their owners, and privileged access across your entire fleet.

Why it matters

With the new Kolide MDM integration, you can:

  • Populate your asset inventory with Kolide-managed resources

  • Sync Kolide security checks as automated tests in Scrut

  • Automatically track employee-owned devices (Coming soon)

  • Perform access reviews of Kolide admins (Coming soon)

How it works

Refer to our help document for step-by-step instructions on linking your Kolide account with Scrut. Once you complete the integration, you can view Kolide data in the following modules:

Asset Management

Kolide devices are added as Mobile Devices with complete metadata. Devices are mapped to owners using Kolide's user directory.

Automated Tests

Scrut will soon sync Kolide’s built-in device checks (e.g., disk encryption, password policies) and automatically surface them in the Automated Tests section. You can:

  • See which devices are passing or failing checks

  • View test details, remediation steps, and rationale

  • Map Kolide results to Scrut’s compliance controls

  • Export device-level check results as CSV

Note: These tests would not be mapped to any controls. You will need to toggle ‘Show unmapped tests’ on the top right to see these tests.

Employee Devices (Coming Soon)

Devices linked to employees will now be shown under each user’s technical profile. Fields like Device Name, OS, Serial Number, and Device Type will be visible.

Note: Checklist items are turned off for Kolide-managed devices, since Kolide handles these directly.

Access Review (Coming Soon)

Admin users in Kolide will be pulled into Scrut, and you can perform access reviews for privileged Kolide accounts. Role and restriction data are fully included.
