Streamline policy approvals with a more intuitive workflow

What's new?

We've enhanced the policy approval process to be more user-friendly. You'll now find a new "Send for Approval" button, a more targeted notification system, and a redesigned UI, all aimed at making policy approvals clearer and more efficient.

Why it matters

  • Improved discoverability of critical actions, such as sending for approval.

  • Actionable notifications that reduce noise and improve responsiveness.

  • A streamlined UI that enhances clarity and transparency across the approval process.

How it works

New "Send for Approval" Button

A new primary action, "Send for Approval," is now available on the Policy Detail, Preview, and Editor pages. This button appears when a policy is in Draft status or reverts to draft due to edits.

Targeted Notification Flow

When the "Send for Approval" button is clicked, Scrut notifies the first approver. The button then changes to "Notify Approver" and is disabled for 24 hours to prevent immediate repeat notifications. After 24 hours, "Notify Approver" becomes available again if no action has been taken.

Approval Timeline

The Policy Detail layout has been reorganized for better readability and action clarity. A new Approval Timeline now clearly shows approval progress, giving authors and approvers better visibility into the workflow status.
