Updates in Tests

AUTHOR: The folks at Scrut

What's changed?

There are multiple enhancements in Tests:

  • A new “Unmapped” tag now appears on any test, policy, or evidence not linked to a compliance control.

  • Every test now displays a “Last Checked” timestamp, giving teams visibility into when it was last evaluated.

  • 25+ new automated tests have been added across GitHub, Google Workspace, Microsoft Entra, Slack, Snyk, Heroku, and Qualys.

Why does it matter?

This update improves visibility into which items affect compliance metrics and which are purely for broader security. It also helps track test recency, improving audit readiness and operational clarity.

How it works:

  • The “Unmapped” tag shows up on the Test Dashboard, Test Library, and individual Test pages for all items not linked to a control.

  • Use the “Show Unmapped Tests” toggle to include/exclude them:

    • Default OFF on the Dashboard to preserve compliance scores.

    • Default ON in the Test Library for complete visibility.

  • A “No Framework” filter is also added to the Framework dropdown to isolate unmapped items easily.

Last check timestamp

Every test now includes a “Last checked” timestamp, which is automatically updated after evaluation.
